On the second Friday of every month this summer, the Fulton Area Business (FAB) Alliance brings local businesses together for music, activities, and more in the public plazas! Greenlight Bookstore is delighted to partner with new local café Lunitas to bring book-themed activities to FAB Fridays. This afternoon, our featured book Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend by Dan Santat. We’ll be drawing our own imaginary friends, and taking pictures with our friends in an urban scene, and there will be fun stickers and other giveaways too. Join us in Putnam Triangle for a FAB Friday afternoon!

Imaginary Friend Party for Kids age 3 to 7. Have you ever wondered where imaginary friends come from? The new book, The Adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend, by Dan Santat, gives us some ideas to think about as we explore all of the possibilities. Join us for a storytime with activities and a small treat on Sunday, May 18th from 2 to 3 pm. The $5 cost includes a $5 gift certificate from The Bookstore to be used that day or at any future date. First, Sherman Alexie put out the call for authors to show their support of their local independent bookstores by serving as a bookseller for a day, and now Kate DiCamillo is putting out the call for all children's book authors to support their local independent by participating in, the first ever, Indies First Storytime!

“The point is to read aloud, to celebrate stories and to celebrate the indies who work so hard to put our stories in the hands of readers.” – Kate DiCamillo.

Join us as our Mr. Steve kicks off storytime, followed by Dan Santat (The adventures of Beekle: The Unimaginary Friend) at 10:30am and Michael B. Kaplan (Betty Bunny Wants a Goal) at 12:30pm. Stories will be read, crafts will be crafted, and fun will be had by all!!

Those wishing to get books signed will be asked to purchase at least one copy of the author's most recent title from Vroman's. For each purchased copy of the newest title, customers may bring up to three copies from home to be signed. This policy applies to all Vroman's Bookstore events unless otherwise noted. Save your Vroman's receipt; it will be checked when you enter the signing line.
