I can't really add to Clifford's erudite review, except to say that I have enjoye dthis book over the years as very erotic with the eroticism of submission and spanking increasing through out the book. There are a dozen or so black & white spanking photographs spaced throughout some of which I find very arousing (although they don't link up with the text.

I bought this book from the Janus shop in Old Compton Street

This third book in the John Saxon series of erotic chastisement novels published by Janus deals with the problems of a young couple whose erotic life has grown stale. Valerie takes a short break, staying with her mother, and husband Paul immediately embarks on affaires with young women who are turned on by chastisement, including the use of canes. His guilt at these affaires eventually sends him in pursuit of Valerie, and he discovers that she, too, has discovered delights with other men, men who also happen to enjoy spanking women. He discovers his wife being spanked (and enjoying it) and he discreetly withdraws, using his new knowledge when she rejoins him to extend their lovemaking to include such practices. They both continue to have affaires, but that side of their relationship continues to develop, eventually involving school role-play. As with the earlier books, the story is illustrated with black-and-white photographs of chastisement activities.… (mer)

This book follows ‘The Chastisement of Gina’ as one of John Saxon’s erotic chastisement stories under the Janus imprint, books that are keenly sought, and unlikely to be reprinted in the currently prevailing, surprisingly less liberal attitude to the subject matter. The books are nicely sprinkled with black-and-white photographs of callipygous young ladies undergoing chastisement by palm and bamboo. ‘School for Spanking’ relates the experiences of a visiting Frenchman, Dupont, who was looking at the suitability of a girls’ finishing school on behalf of parents. He is intrigued to discover the enthusiasm for strong discipline at the school, of the bamboo variety, and just as intrigued to find that his landlady was similarly strict with her ‘hired help’. He is encouraged to emulate his landlady’s punitive practice, a move that demonstrates the predilection for such stimulus on the part of the young lady concerned. Dupont’s investigations at the school become increasingly intimate, and he himself is even subjected to one of the chastisements that liberally populate this book.. The book is, if anything, both better constructed and more stimulating than its predecessor.… (mer)

This is one of the gems produced by Janus in the seventies, as a complement to their anthologies dealing with erotic chastisement. John Saxon, not to be confused with either the writer of maths textbooks or the writer of American pulp fiction, wrote a few books in the spanking genre, published in the UK. Although they are hardly great fiction they are quite well written and score highly on the stimulus scale for simple, straightforward activities between adults. Gina is the daughter of an Italian woman who discovers her predilection for chastisement with the help of two men. Via the influence of these men she becomes enrolled in a school whose Headmaster and female deputy prove to have similar tastes. Gina, well shaped in the relevant places, and in her late teens, also discovers this tendency in herself. She becomes the object of their attraction, and ‘ends up’ experiencing their attentions. This is a classic of the genre.… (mer)
