The city of Rome was founded, not by the sons of Mars as myth would have it, but by the amalgamation of separate communities of the Palatine and Quirinal hills around 600 BC. Upon reading the title I figured it would include Ptolemaic and Seleucid Empires and their forces in some detail. However it does not, pretty disappointing for me.

This series is a bit pricey but the illustrations are well-done and they are excellent, brief introductions to their respective subjects.
