Not only do many of us seek to hide from our own mortality, we often indulge in the denial of others' death. Smith guides us into seeing things as they are; risking change; acknowledging our shadow sides: living (& dying) as humans; learning from every experience; listening from our hearts; searching for meaning; suffering; opening our hearts; losing our sense of self while trusting the process; understanding grief; and passing through time into deathlessness.

The problem with this book is one that will be found in any book on death and dying: it is all pure speculation. However, anything we can do to face this final frontier with grace and equanimity is to be treasured.… (mer)
