Ford is a shifter in a new town doing an internship while he gets ready to take his engineering exam. He keeps to himself most of the time, but he is craving someone to be in a relationship with. He is not the one-night-stand kind of guy. He is so obsessed with finding someone that he writes to the Fated Date Agency to try to find his mate.

Jarvis works at the firm Ford is doing his internship. He notices Ford from across the room and immediately wants to get to know him. Jarvis is a bit of a free spirit, and while he is not really a player, he comes across that way at times. He wants to be with Ford, but has trouble competing with the idea of Ford's mate (not because he has an issue, but because Ford is so focused on his mate).

The relationship between the two is rocky. Ford has trouble relating to Jarvis and his openness and assumes the worst of everything. I tended to get annoyed at times with Ford because he was very judgmental without really listening to Jarvis. On the other hand, Jarvis was so clueless at times and couldn't understand Ford's perspective that I wanted to smack him upside the head.

When they finally got through the miscommunication, though, I was glad to see these guys realize what they want and how they can get it. It really felt like these two were their own worst enemy. I'm glad they were able to work through it. I would definitely be interested in reading more in this series.

I absolutely LOVED this! I knew that the basic premise was that one of the MC’s had gone into hiding, but the slow reveal of the information and feelings attached to that reveal was so well written.

Caden (or Idris as he was previously known) ran away from his pack and faked his death. The day after this occurs, Samuel finds out from the Fated Date Agency that he was mated, but that his mate had died. Samuel felt so much guilt in waiting to find him and really struggled with what this meant for him. Meanwhile, Caden takes a bus trek across the country and ends up in Samuel’s hometown. Fate has a way of making things work out.

Caden has difficulty trusting anyone and is skittish, but immediately connects with Samuel once he knows they are mates. There is fear, drama, kidnapping, and lots of love in this story. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat. I really enjoyed it!… (mer)
