Very fasted paced with tons of action and drama.

The two main characters certainly have their fair share of problems. Anna Mercado is in Mexico to give her son who needs a heart transplant one last vacation with his father before he is admitted into the hospital. Anna had left Max over his infidelities but was willing to reconcile for a short while to make her son happy. When she accidentally over hears Max plotting her death and the kidnapping of her son she takes him and goes to Dallas where he is to soon receive a LVAD to help until a donor can be found.

Leland Hollis was a DEA Agent that was part of a mission that went horribly wrong. He just turned in his resignation and is recovering from a wound sustained on that ill fated mission. Leland is also burnt out and teetering on the verge of an addiction to pain pills.

Leland and Anna happen to be in the same hotel in Dallas and when Leland overhears someone break into Anna’s room and is threatening her life. He steps in not knowing that this is going to change the course of both their lives.

Leland doesn’t want to get involved in whatever is going on in Anna’s life but when her son is kidnapped he cannot just leave her. There are so many different Mexican cartels after them both that Leland doesn’t know if it has to do with his last mission or if it has to do with her husband who is also connected to the cartel. What ends up being the real reason is so shocking and unethical you won’t believe it.

This is the first in series and we do meet what I am sure are future characters. I’m hooked and look forward to the next book in the series.

Action packed story that literally picks up where the last book left off. As this series has many crossover plots from the previous books I would recommend reading in order.

At last we knew Sassy Smith was seen in a truck full of kidnapped women in Africa who were to be sold. She manages to get herself out of that situation on her own. But her troubles are far from over.

Bryan Fisher who is her brother’s best friend comes to Africa to save her. He and Sassy have a one of those histories of where they’ve both liked the other but Bryan doesn’t think he’s good enough for her and it wouldn’t be cool to lust after your best friends sister. These two fight their attraction all while trying to survive train wrecks, bombs, drug cartels, and getting shot.

In the midst of all of this is the crossover plot of the Mexican cartel and sex trafficking in Africa, Sassy’s brother in a Mexican prison being accused of killing his girlfriend who she thinks was actually sent to Africa to be sold. What’s got her into the mess she is in trying to prove her brother’s innocence and the cartel want her silenced.

As with the previous books there are some resolutions but there are still many things left unresolved.

Another action packed adventure in the next chapter of the men of AEGIS. As this series has many crossover plots from the previous books I would recommend reading in order.

Nick Donavan was part of the team from the first book that went after the Vegas and Riveras cartels. Both now are looking for revenge and kidnap who they think is his sister-in-law and take her to Mexico to the largest brothel and where they gather women to sell. Problem is they got his SIL best friend and the only woman Nick has ever loved Jennifer Grayson.

Nick and Jennifer hadn’t seen each other in 10 years and they had some unresolved issues that had to be dealt with during their long run from both cartels through Mexico, the United States and Africa.

This series is like a labyrinth of twist and turns. Where there is some resolution to some things there are just as many new things introduced that we have to wait to see how they play out.

I honestly don't think I have been this addicted to a story in a long time! No Joke, I have been so addicted to this book, I was reading it in the doctor's office, while waiting for my charges to be done in swim classes and at nap time, I am unable to put this book down it is SO good.
So the story goes as follows, Jennifer and Nick had a college romance, but fate stepped in and stopped their young love in their tracks. Fast forward many years. Jennifer is freshly divorced and is house for Nick's brother and sister-in-law, well that is until she was abducted (mistakenly) and taken as revenge against Nick. I am going to stop it there as I don't want to give away too much of the story.
Personal Target is such a fabulous book, as I said before I am addicted. I found no flaws with the characters, as they were perfectly thought out and detailed. The story was gripping and definitely kept me gripped, but also it flowed smoothly, there were no glaring mistakes and thankfully no plot holes!
I give Personal Target and Kay Thomas 10 out of 10 for such a gripping and addictive story...I actually might need a support group, I am that addicted
