P.J. Tracy is the pseudonym of mother-daughter writing duo P.J. and Traci Lambrecht, winners of the Anthony, Barry, Gumshoe, and Minnesota Book Awards. They write the Monkeewrench series, which includes Monkeewrench, Live Bait, Dead Run, Shoot to Thrill, The Sixth Idea, and Nothing Stays Buried. visa mer P.J. I don't read much mystery/suspense, but this proved to be an intriguing, fast read. The writing was excellent; there were deep characterizations, and Los Angeles itself proved to be a vibrant character. The end, though, felt flat. The bad guy was too obvious from early on--and I kept wondering why the main characters didn't pick up on the hints. A subplot involving a serial killer was really unsatisfying, the resolution feeling crammed in at the very end. Still not a terrible read, but I'm not encouraged to continue.… (mer)
