Tea Trelawny

Miss Fancy always considered herself a matchmaker and when she married she told him she could put 1000 couples together before she would go to Heaven. Now it is Valentine's Day and she is five couples away from doing it but will she have the time to do it this year? She can only work her magic in the elevator.

The first couple is Kelly, a hostess at the club on the first floor of Miss Fancy's building, and Connor, a reflexologist who rents an office in the building. There is a rule that the employees cannot fraternize with co-workers, tenants, or contractors who work in the building or they risk being fired. Kelly's feet are killing her and Connor offers her a foot massage. He has a special one for her that heightens her pleasure when she and Connor break the rules.

The second couple is Devon, a dance studio owner in the building, and Russell, an accountant with an office across from her. She has seen him spying on her but he is so shy when she is around he can barely get a sentence out. Then she offers to teach him the tango. He finally gives her what she wants--a dominant man on the dance floor and the bedroom.

Then is Alex, the current owner's brother, and Piper, a classical pianist who rents an apartment there. He is a rock star. Talk about oil and water but as they talk they start to realize their prejudices and work towards clearing them up.

Sophia, current owner of the building, and Jake, an elevator repairman, get pretty heated with one another and neither is going to allow the other to treat them like trash. Then they end up in the elevator that Jake says has nothing wrong with it but the lore of Miss Fancy. Sophia does not believe it but she is attracted to Jake and decides to make a move on him which he is more than willing to accept and then show her what he can do.

One more couple remain but will Miss Fancy make it?

I enjoyed this book and the stories of the couples. They have their hesitations but they also build each other up. Sophia has to review her no fraternization policy. The loving is hot and I liked all the couples. All seem they are made for each other and they all get Miss Fancy's approval.… (mer)

Review: This story is short, but not lacking in action or heat. If you're looking for an in-depth story with character development and a complex plot, pass on by. However, if you want a front row seat in a spicy bedroom romp, then check out this novella.

My only real complaint is that when I reached the last page, I wanted more... wanting to know what happens to Julie and Jason next. That said, I enjoyed the characters and yes, they could've been developed more, but in the number of pages we get, the reader does get a fairly good idea of who Julie and Jason are. I think it would be interesting for the author to revisit these characters and explore their relationship further.… (mer)
