Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Select/Second Sky for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

4.25 stars. An Excellent second installment in a series (which is where a lot of series tend to struggle). Lots of action and spice! It was a bit easier to get into this book since most of the world-building happened in the first. Looking forward to the next!

The narrator was good, and did a good job with different voices and emotions. I'm not sure if I would have preferred to read the book instead but I think that has more to do with the type of book than the narrator.… (mer)

Ahhhhhhh! Why did I wait so long to read this!! I've had this book on my TBR list for quite some time but for some reason I just never found the time to start it. But once I did, I flew through it. I think I finished this book in less than 24 hours! Lor is a wonderfully written, strong willed FMC and I cannot wait to dive further into her character in the sequel, she seems to have a lot of history that she keeps hidden and I'm curious to see how things progress between her, Atlas and Nadir. I can definitely see why this book is often compared to ACOTAR but it is absolutely its own work of art!… (mer)

What a great continuation of book 1! I'm still giving this book five stars because I really did thoroughly enjoy it, but not quite to the same level I loved book 1. This book was ~s p i c y~, which I enjoy in small doses but this book had a bit much for my preference (not to say that others readers wont absolutely love the extra spice). The continuation of the plot in this book was amazing, typically I feel that many books drag the plot in book 2 but this continued so seamlessly! The shifting of POV's kept me so engaged and though I usually am not the biggest fan of 'history' POV's, Serce's chapters were captivating and integral to the plot. I'll be waiting on the edge of my seat for book 3's release June 2024!!… (mer)

Oh Nisha, Nisha, Nisha. What did I just read?!? This was so good! I definitely feel like I have been left on a major cliffhanger as to what happens next and I can’t wait for the ride to begin again! ⁣

Hopefully no spoilers here, but I truly loved how her relationships changed within the book. Enemies become supporters. Slow burn. Secrets (from all directions)come to life in a beautiful way. Captor becomes protector. The FMC is strong, but not in the independent, I don’t need anyone way. It’s refreshing to see an intelligent, dignified girl seeking connection via relationships and willing to go for what she wants. ⁣

I truly enjoyed this ARC. Thank you for the opportunity. I wish this ARC could’ve been a physical copy, because I felt the need to tag so many things! I only wish I would have seen a pronunciation guide. I tried my best with the names. The imagery of all the clothing, nature, and cities was beautiful. ⁣
