Mini-Motherpeace Tarot Deck (Cards) av Karen Vogel
Just acquired this particular deck and have not done a reading with it. I felt very nostalgic looking at the artwork, since it was created during a time of a great blossoming of womanhood for the USA. I don't know if younger women (or men) can appreciate the folksy, almost primitive artwork, but I do hope they can. It is a bit odd holding round cards, but I think I'll get used to it. LOL
A most unusual tarot deck as the cards are round and are based on Women's heritage images. The meanings are drawn from women's mythology inside the lengthier tradition of the Tarot. One of my favorite decks for the beauty of the images as well as the meanings and interpretations.
on a whim, i bought these and ever since, i got to say i believe in them. i only pull them out every few months, but every time they're dead-on. since i bought them, i've checked out other decks, but these have such a great vibe - fromt their smallness to shape to the amazing pictures, they just exude strength and solidarity. sounds crazy, but give them a try.
This deck has so many great things going for it. I believe it is the only round deck (there is some kind of moon goddess round deck out there as well as others and i don't know that i might not have picked up the moon goddess one at some point) i own (and i think i have the full size deck somewhere but the mini-dec is so much easier to work with) there are many feminist and multicultural images here--and i collect tarot decks mostly for the imagery but i like it when they try to retain the original meaning in some way which this deck does.
