2024 movie #58. 2023. Aquaman changes diapers, rescues his brother from prison and beats the bad guy. Without the CG this could have been a 15 minute movie, instead of over 2 hours of stuff happening. Kind of dull for all that stuff.

Adventure

Typical, competent superhero origin film mostly devoid of that little extra twinkle in the eye or original twist that makes it stand out. Basically the DCEU's answer to Thor 1, in plot, tone and characters, for better and for worse. Just a decade later. In the movie landscape of 2019, it's thus rather bland, but 15 years ago, when there wasn't thirty thousand other superhero origin films to compare it to, this would have been quite good, so I can't quite bring myself to be too harsh about it.
