Terence Hanbury White was born on May 29, 1906 in Bombay, India. He attended Cheltenham College, Gloucestershire, and Queen's College, Cambridge. The success of his autobiography, England Have My Bones, allowed him to leave teaching after six years and devote his time to writing. Although he wrote visa mer a wide array of novels and some poetry, he is best known for The Once and Future King, his four-volume retelling of the legend of King Arthur, which became the basis for both the musical, Camelot, and the Disney film, The Sword in the Stone. The Once and Future King av T. H. White

I've been reading some of the reviews here of this book. Most of them lavish praise, while a couple of the reviewers that I've come to respect hated it. I haven't read it for over 40 years, back when I was a teen. I loved it then, and have kept a copy ever since. Makes me wonder what I would think of it now after so much more reading experience and living. I think I'll try it again, and see if it brings about that old magic I remember.

The Book of Merlyn av T. H. White

A very confusing final volume to the series, in that it swerves into a wildly different direction. There's something of a bittersweetness and sense of nostalgia that permeates this last council as the Wart reunites with his animal friends---and I very much liked that---but the content of their discussion, which I suppose comes from White taking the opportunity to expound upon his philosophical ideas about humankind and war, is downright unsatisfying as the conclusion to this long and storied tale.… (mer)

The Ill-Made Knight av T. H. White

I'm enjoying this series, but book #3 (this one) is not my favorite. It's mainly about the affair between Lancelot and Guinevere. I'm not a fan of romance, even so, this version was particularly silly. The rest of the book, and the rest of the series is really good though.
