Wolfe's 'Bottoms Up! is a relatively early example (1971) of the early ninetoon-seventies explosion of erotic literature that included the previously taboo phenomenon of erotic chastisement. It follows the classic structure of a number of stories, interspersed with monochrome photographs which show couples, M/F and F/F, engaged in spanking. The nine stories are presented in the oft-used 'case study' format which purports to relate real-life instances of the practice, covering a reasonably wide range of scenarios. The photographs make no effort to illustrate the short stories offered, and the stories look quite familiar. This is not uncommon in a genre which frequently re-issues material in different guises.
