Einfach ein unheimlich schönes Buch. Wer Blackout mochte, wird Whiteout sicher genauso lieben! Ich jedenfalls finde es eine grandiose Ergänzung/Fortsetzung. Es macht einfach Spaß, ist schön - irgendwie ein Wohlfühlbuch mit Drama, aber nicht überzogen und irgendwie auch aus dem Leben heraus. Klar, so ein paar Sachen wären im Realen vielleicht schwer umsetzbar, wenn man nicht entsprechende Connections hat - die hier aber nunmal vorhanden sind - aber generell ist es wirklich toll gemacht und lässt sich unheimlich gut lesen.

Ich könnte gar nicht sagen, welchen Charakter ich hier im Buch am liebsten mag, welche Perspektive ich am liebsten gelesen habe, denn mir haben wirklich alle sehr gut gefallen.
Meiner Meinung nach sind sie alle verschieden, aber auch alle auf ihre Art irgendwo liebenswürdig. Und auch wenn es im großen eher um die Beziehung zwischen Stevie und Sola geht, so geht es im einzelnen dann eben doch um absolut jeden dieser Menschen. Jeder bekommt genug Raum, um dessen eigene Geschichte zu entfalten und abzuschließen, selbst die Vergangenheit jedes einzelnen lernt man kennen und bekommt so selbst auch mal auf weniger Seiten so tiefe und gute Einblicke in die Figuren, dass man sie tatsächlich kennenlernt und niemand blass oder platt erscheint. Gleichzeitig geht es hier aber gar nicht mal nur um diese eine Art der Liebe, sondern auch generell um alle Beziehungen unter den Charakteren, um ihre Verbindungen zueinander, unabhängig von Liebesbeziehungen. Um Freundschaft und Familie, um Versprechen, aber auch um Verletzte Gefühle und Ängste, oder die Zukunft.

Ein ganz großes Ding. Ein Buch, das man einfach lieben muss und das zusätzlich zur schönsten Zeit des Jahres spielt. Geschrieben von gleich sechs Menschen, aber so absolut harmonisch und zueinander passend, dass man gar nicht so richtig sagen könnte, wer was geschrieben hat. Dieses Autorenteam leistet hier einfach wieder so gute Arbeit, dass ich nur staunen kann, ich hoffe hier definitiv auf noch viele solcher Projekte von diesem Team. Einfach toll!… (mer)

Writing in the voice of a teen can be super difficult, but some of the dialogue here was seriously cheesy. But these authors have written teen characters before that sounded/felt more natural.

Despite that, good inclusion of diversity, love, and different cultures. I found Stevie to be really annoying and pretentious though the grand gesture at the end was sweet. You can't hinge the story on the most unlikable character.

I don’t think I cared for any of the couples here unlike Blackout though it was nice that most of the misunderstandings/miscommunications were lighthearted.

I'm a few weeks past having finished this book and STILL thinking about it. Only really special books tend to stay with me for a long period of time, and this is hands down one of them. This is a new favorite book, and that's coming from someone who almost exclusively reads adult genre MM romances with HEA/HFNs that aren't written in verse. This book has made me want to seek out more books written in verse because it was so hauntingly beautiful. I don't know how Woodfolk did this, but the subtle foreshadowing had me realizing from the start that certain things weren't what they seemed, and that the book would end a certain way. I laughed with these girls, cried with them, felt for them, felt WITH them. Ups and downs and twists and turns, I was along for the ride. ALSO, I read this over the course of 24 HOURS, starting from the moment it arrived in my April Rainbow Crate. It takes me MONTHS to read a book, no matter how good it is, no matter if it's from a favorite author of mine, no matter how long I waited for the release of it. I'm just a slow reader, but I could NOT put this book down. This review doesn't even come close to doing this book justice, and it deserves way more than 5 stars. I highly suggest giving it a try, even if verse isn't your favorite, because the story is so incredible and beautiful and just plain perfect.
