After rescuing Regina Menlow from her burning bookstore Jordan Beck decides she may be useful in finding out who caused the death of his father, British Ambassador Chris Beck, who died in a recent bombing. Regina was friends with Chris and he sent her his journal before he died. Regina has a special ability---she's able to read something once, and then it's committed to her memory. (She has read the journal and will not forget it.) But it seems many other people are also interested in what is in this journal and they will go to any lengths to get it.

This was a lively, exciting story. (It had some Christmas references in it, but not alot. The plot was more centered on the suspense/action.) I liked Regina, she was a sweet heroine, but also brave and gutsy at times (especially when dealing with the bad guys.) I also liked Jordan---he hailed from royalty and once worked for a black ops division of the government. I found the secondary characters interesting and I noticed many of them have their own stories in other Harlequin Intrigues by this author. This was an enjoyable action/adventure romance, a fast-paced, easy read.… (mer)
