The auto-biography of the man who killed Rasputin. Prince Felix Youssoupoff was married to a niece of Tsar Nicholas II. More than any other single event, the assassination of Rasputin helped to bring about the cataclysmic upheaval that ended in the advent of the Soviet regime.

Man is a bit of a swine and a vile anti-semite to boot, but it is a curious insight into a vanished (though not widely lamented) world. But it did make me wonder how much things would have been different if Rasputin had not been assassinated.
