The Lilac Library (formerly the Out / Gay Alliance Library & Archives) is a special-topic collection offering:

* A safe space for library patrons seeking materials with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, or Transgender (LGBT) interest
* A comprehensive range of materials with LGBT content or creators
* Staff who are knowledgeable and comfortable with LGBT subjects

The Lilac Library is a circulating and reference collection of over 10,000 fiction and non-fiction books, 1,000 magazines and journals, as well as video and audio recordings.

The Lilac Library special collections include rare books and magazines, as well as the Empty Closet archive, the ImageOUT video archive, and a large holding of pulp fiction.
