Om mitt bibliotek
The only way to describe it is eclectic. Come in and browse around. You might find anything from the latest bestseller to your heart's desire. You might even find a few surprises. It is my cat Kiki's favorite room in the house. Mine too. No wonder we get along so well!

Here is the reasoning behind my administration of stars when used.

5 stars = I loved it/would read it again
4 stars = I really liked it/might read it again
3 stars = I liked it/worth reading
2 stars = I didn't like it/not a waste of time, but almost
1 star = I hated it/give it away to a good home

Om mig
While I continue to accumulate books at an embarassing rate, I've come to the point that the shelves clearly need culling. Why should I keep books that I will likely never open again much less read? I think that it would be better to pass them on. That said, I am in the process of reading and rereading the books in my library in order to thin the ranks. Hopefully this catharsis won't be too traumatic. The plan is to alternate fiction and nonfiction until there is no TBR. (I'm not sure that this will ever happen, but it sounds nice.) As each is finished I will decide whether to keep the book in my personal library or give it away to someone else. Now, if I could just keep those pesky library books from following me home.
An update on the effort to reduce the size of the bookstack has been the purchase of a Nook Color. I find myself increasingly attached to the little guy and although I have acquired my fair share of books they are all virtual so they take up no bookshelf space. It's unlikely that I will exchange my entire library for a virtual one though because I'm still addicted to the touch, smell and look of real books and a lot of my old tried and true titles aren't yet available on ereaders.
