My library is in its infancy right now. Most of the books on the list are the ones I have read. I will be adding more, especially the ones that I want to read.

When we join these online groups, there is always this “about me” section that you feel compelled to fill out. I always wonder if I am not the only person who re-writes this section several times until it truly makes you feel as though it is “you.”

In my youth I read books because I “had to” for one reason or another, and I really didn’t get “into” books until I was an adult and was asked my by local church to join a reading group. I can’t remember the book that I read but the setting was in Maine and was about a young girl growing up and her life. I can only remember that reading this book gave me visuals of Maine and what that area may have been like.

After that, I started to read books, primarily mystery novels by Mary Higgins Clark. I was not brave enough to venture out into other genres until I read the book by Mark Matteson, Freedom from fear. That book changed my life dramatically. I learned so many things and I started to journal shortly after reading it. I have moved onto blogging, cause what I write in my journal is of a personal nature and I was worried my husband would read it. The one thing I take with me after reading Freedom from fear is a quote; “The only thing different about you in five years will be the books you read and the people you associate with.” That alone drives me to read.
