Om migNative German who spent a year in Sweden and four in the US and is as of August 2018 living in Toluca, Mexico.

I loved living in Stockholm/ Sweden (2002-2003) and liked Blacksburg/ Virginia (2006-2008) fine, but College Station/ Texas (2008-2010) is just not for me. I missed having 4 seasons. It is very unlikely that I could ever get used to the over-sized cockroaches, YUCK. Or the "cool" 35C/ 95F humid summer mornings. My husband and I married in Bryan/ TX in August 2008, which is a great memory.

Now, being back home, I miss my friends from abroad, the easy way of living in the States, the wonderful university libraries and TexMex food.

We moved around a bit: Hanau, Leipzig, Mannheim. Since 2012 we are settled in Stuttgart. In July 2013 our daughter and in July 2016 our son joined our family. Everyday life has gotten way more busy. Since Christmas 2015 my backlit E-reader is my greatest book related pleasure - I read all evenings while I bring the children to bed. I should have gotten one way sooner! Combined with our very affordable local library E-book lending, I enjoy reading more than ever.

Mexico is our new family adventure. We are all learning Spanish and getting used to living abroad. I'm impressed by the friendliness off people.

The tag "Vor LT" marks the books I read before joining LT. The older ones from the nineties neither had an evaluation nor a read date, but I found it fun to add them - nice to see how my book taste evolved. Later, I recorded only the month I finished reading each book, so the read date is the last day of that month.
