It reminded me of my parents because it was talking about working very hard over and over again in order to provide ideal situations. (1), has difficult words and names but also has a smooth pattern to the book. The poems are easy to read and the rhymes typically flow off of the tongue. Would be a great book to read at circle time with the whole class involved. (1), and evolved. Book talks about sharing (1), and discovery of the beautiful simple things. (1), gives you sense of what being at the ocean is like and all of the different aspects there are. (1), Chickens started to act like the ladies and not like themselves. Soon the chickens were not even laying eggs so the ladies tricked them into being themselves again to solve the problem of the food shortage. (1), Giving all you can to someone and the person is not fully satisfied. It is not until the end when the boy is content with just the stump of the tree who had been there all along for him. Friendship with nature and taking so much from one plant or tree. (1), Making plans (1), Coming of age (getting glasses). (1)
