Because I have been blessed to work in a field that interests me immensely, here is a rather dry account what I do… As a publicist at a growing independent publisher, I have the pleasure of working on early, middle and YA books to try and secure publicity on the internet, newsletters, NPR, newsprint, magazines and, when appropriate, television. I also sometimes work on literary novels and college prep titles. In my off hours I’ve also started reviewing books for PopMatters.com.

With dwindling coverage across all media, the Internet has become an increasing area of focus. I have worked at my current employer since early 2008, and am still very grateful to have been allowed to take a sabbatical to attend the Columbia Publishing Course (Summer 2008), where under the direction of the immortal Lindy Hess had the opportunity to meet the best and brightest of the publishing community. Prior to my current employer, I was an editorial associate at a boutique literary agency that represented everything from Christian fiction to mystery thrillers.

I love chatting about new books, books I’m working on, the publishing industry, and pretty much anything book related.
