Om migThirty-something. British. Queer and genderqueer. Unitarian. Invisibly disabled (Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, fibromyalgia, asthma, bipolar NOS, high-functioning autistic). Elder sibling. Writer, reader, web designer. Cat lover (and any other animals with fur, but especially cats). Fantasy, science fiction, school-story and crime & mystery lover.

All my writing (poetry, fanfiction, original fiction) is archived at my second domain, (yes, that IS a DD quote), if anyone's interested. :)

Anything else? Ask!

Om mitt bibliotekMostly: true crime, crime drama, mysteries, fantasy, science fiction (weighted toward character-driven), girls' school stories, historical fiction.

I generally don't read: romance, Western, political thrillers etc. and I avoid Stephenie Meyer, C.C. and her ilk like the plague. I'm also decidedly not a GRRM fan; too triggering for my PTSD. (Don't even TRY to convert me on any of the aforementioned, please.)

I'm working on cataloguing my library; deleted the lot when I received my first CueCat and am now in the process of scanning them shelf by shelf, gradually. Unfortunately, my health has been steadily deteriorating over time, and although most of my library now has a room of its own, I also lost 200+ of my children's and YA section to a flood in October 2018. I'm working on it all, but it has to be slowly.

The present number of paper books listed isn't close to my total, which is around 4,000 & climbing, so far as I can tell. My ebook total is similar, with plenty of crossover, but I think adding the print, digital & audio libraries together will eventually wind up at approximately 7,500-8,500 books. I have a history of buying far more books than I can afford, but I do my best to reduce the number periodically. It hasn't helped that I can no longer afford to use BookMooch or similar swapping sites, thanks to the extortionate increases in the cost of postage...

I currently have the following e-readers: Fang, a silver Kindle Touch; a nameless black Kobo Touch on its way out; Aziraphale, a black Kindle Paperwhite; and Faris, a white Kobo ARC tablet/e-reader.

Past e-readers have included my first, Idris, a beautiful sangria red Sony PRS-505 that I still have in spite of her no longer being functional; Toby, a black Sony T2; 2 black Kindle Keyboards named Carmela
& Kaylin; Faith, a black Kobo Wi-Fi (have you noted I go for black most of the time?); Galadriel, a black Nook Simple Touch with Glowlight; and 3 Kindle Touches named Penelo, Vanille & Catwin, the last of which is now owned by my sibling. I also had a Fire at one point, but I don't know what happened to that...
