The books in this collection are for Asakraka Junior High School in the village of Asakraka, outside of Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region. The school is on the same grounds as the primary school, which we also sent books to at the same time as these (booksmatterasaPS). The junior high school has only 60 students presently, but after-school literacy classes are held for out-of-school teens, which has caused some teens to go back to school. These books were shipped to Ghana on Feb 22, 2014 and arrived in late May. We are awaiting pictures!

Books Matter sends books to schools that have no books, in Ghana, West Africa. We are located in Toronto, where we collect donated books. We then ship the books to Ghana, thanks to monetary donations made at our website. Many of those donations have come from generous LT members. We thank you.
