Om mitt bibliotek
Every book has a story and I love stories. Once a story is etched in my memory, it becomes part of my DNA and books have always served as the vehicle to bridge my left and right brained perspectives of the world. It's one thing to remember that King Edward VIII abdicated the British throne in 1937, but when Philip Ziegler's authoriative 1991 Knopf biography of the complex and enigmatic monarch resides in one's library, you are occasionally forced to pluck the book off the shelf and be reminded that Edward VIII had a life before ascending to England's throne, and lived for 35 years afterward. The Ziegler volume was once part of another reader's library and still features the "From the Library of" sticker of the original owner. I purchased the book in a thrift store for $1.00 plus tax. As I said before, every book has a story and I love stories.
Om mig
I'm the oldest son of a woman who was the first in her family to attend college, but didn't achieve her dreams. I've always carried her hopes and aspirations with me no matter where I've gone and where I've been. The first books I owned belonged to my mother, featuring volumes of classic works written by Jack London and Robert Louis Stevenson, intermixed with her old textbooks from high school, and Golden Book children's encyclopedia's they used to sell at the grocery store during my childhood. I have A LOT of interests, so my library tends to reflect that. However, I've always gravitated to non-fiction, so nearly all my books are in that realm.
