Om migMasters degree in history. Bad writer, decent knitter, positively superb procrastinator. Paper shuffler. Weakness for books (obviously) and chocolate biscuits.
Om mitt bibliotekDominated by history, golden age crime, Terry Pratchett, and PG Wodehouse. There's an awful lot of general fiction in there too. And piles of unread Serious Literature, which I really will get round to reading some day, honestly. (I probably won't.)
In theory, all the books I currently own are listed here. Unlisted ones still keep turning up occasionally, though. (Where do they hide? And are they leading a secret double life with my missing odd socks?)
The majority of my books are the old-fashioned kind, made out of bits of dead tree, and ink, and glue. I do have a few (hundred) ebooks; I prefer paper, but some concessions to the precariousness of my bank balance and the joists under my bookcases are occasionally needed. I have separate collections for paper and ebooks, not because I don't consider ebooks to be proper books (though, to be honest, I don't) but because it's the the only way I'll avoid wasting hours hunting through the shelves for something that only exists on the kindle.
Discarded books? Well, there'll have been a good few thousand that I've weeded or borrowed from the library in the past that I either deleted when I got rid of them or never added in the first place. If having read a book matters to me, then it'll be in my Read but Unowned collection.
Once upon a time, my tags and collections were beautifully organised. These days, I daren't look. I should probably do something about them.
I've invariably got an annual thread in the 75 Books Challenge group, which should be more or less up to date with my reading (2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012).
