Om migI finally graduated from the University of North Florida with a double major in English and Anthropology. I returned to school after the company I worked for went under. I've spent 20 years in retail, with the majority of that time spent in the book business. I've worked for B.Dalton, Barnes & Noble and lastly a Musicland company called Media Play. Hopefully after completing my double major in English and Anthropology I'll be off to graduate school to get my Master's in Library Science. I come from a reading family and books are the one steady thing in my life. No matter how screwed up everything else is, a book can always take me on a journey to somewhere else. I remember reading the Dune series for the first time - I read all of Frank's books back-to-back for about a week. When I finished I was shocked that I was here, rather than on Dune. That's the power and beauty and glory of books.

Om mitt bibliotekI'm a true bibliomaniac, limited only by my funds. I've actually bought books rather than food -- but I always manage to find a way to eat! I still remember the first book I ever bought for myself. My parents gave me the princely sum of $5 when I was 7 to spend at the Clearwater Library sale. It was 1970 and I bought a black light poster of a purple anteater gazing lovingly at an ant with the inscription "there's someone for everyone" and a gorgeous copy of Spinner in the Sun by Myrtle Reed. The poster is long gone, but the book is still mine. I have every book I've ever purchased since then, although right now many of them are packed away in boxes. My dream is to build a house, with a large library room that is the center of the space. I'm a completist, so once I fall in love with an author I search digilently for everything by that author.
