red (1), and Me is a beautiful story about how a little girl (1), This book is great for teaching children about persistence and determination. Max wanted to get a certain food from the grocery store (1), I think it will be a wonderful story to read to younger students when learning about different cultures and languages. (1), Mia places word cards throughout the house for her grandmother to read. Its a great story about family and communication (1), but they begin to face difficulties when they realize they're unable to communicate with each other. In order to help her grandmother communicate (1), and her "far away Grandmother" Abuela and how she comes to live with her and her family. Mis is ecstatic to have her grandmother so close to home (1), named Mia (1), Big Green Monster! It is written by Ed Emberley. It is fiction/fantasy. This book is super cute! It has cut outs that reveal a monster and then showing the monster going away piece by piece. This book would be especially great for any child who is scared (1), but Max did not give up and still continued to try to and get what he wanted. This is a great lesson to teach to young children. They can learn at a young age to keep with their passions and to continue to do what they want. (1), Then name of this book is Go Away (1), he went to bed and when he woke up there was more snow and he could make a new one. I think that this shows children that it is okay to not get upset about something and it will all work out. (1), A young boy named Peter went outside after waking up to snow covering everything. The author uses peter as an example to children about the different ways to explore the snow. I think it also shows that peter did not get upset when he couldn't find his sn (1), this book is useful for understanding early immigration issues in the United States and addresses themes of compassion (1), all lined up in a row. Wanda and her family eventually move away; only then do her classmates realize the truth behind her claims and the importance of being kind to those who are different. Set in a bygone era (1), is ridiculed by her classmates for wearing the same dress every day. The bullying escalates after Wanda insists that she has one hundred dresses in her closet (1), but the man working at the grocery store did not understand what it was that he wanted. So trip after trip the man still did not understand what he wanted (1), The Berenstain Bears books are a good read for younger children. They are very entertaining and allow the children to interact with the book because of the repetition and small words. In this book (1), Wanda Petronski (1), Anna Dewdney does a great job of teaching children to not to be afraid of the dark and to be patient in this children's book. She chooses to highlight the Llama's whiny-ness and to show that the mother wont reward his behavior but that she is there for hi (1), and dresses in fancy shirts and ties. This allows for subconscious understanding that Mr. Slinger is a male adult (1), has a mustache (1), Lilly’s teacher (1), human traits were still incorporated to the mice’s characters. For example (1), which removes need for race and ethnicity. However (1), Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse is a five-star children’s book. The characters are a significant aspect of this book. All of the characters are mice (1), I really liked this book because it shows that friendship can grow out of frustration and anger. Duck and Goose did not like each other in the beginning of the book but by the end they were best friends. I also liked the illustrations in the book. They we (1), Brother Bear found a box that looks entertaining to him. He decided to climb into the box (1), is a book where children can take lessons away from a book to help them in the future (1), he saw a box and made it fun. Inside (1), used with color pencils. A teacher might use this book to teach get their students started on how to read. The book also shows how a child can use their imagination to make something fun. Like Brother Bear (1), Outside and Upside Down. This book is great for early readers who are just learning how to read. The story is repetitive and also a great tool for memorization because of the small words included. The illustration is colorful and black and white. It is al (1), the box falls off of the truck and Brother Bear fell out. He hurried home to Mama Bear to tell her that he went to town Inside (1), and puts it inside his truck. As Papa Bear is driving up the hill (1), but then Papa Bear takes the box (1), a young Polish girl living in Connecticut (1), but also keeps the reader's attention by the fictional attributions the author brought to the table! It teaches children the difference you can make by being a kind and generous person! I think all parents should read this story to their child (1), even if you are angry (1), A boy is found in a jungle by a panther. The panther (1), and radishes (1), French beans (1), Peter Rabbit enters Mr. McGregor’s garden. After Peter Rabbit eats lettuce (1), Despite his mother’s warnings (1), Mowgli. One day a tiger shows back to the jungle and Mowgli is now in danger. He must leave the wolf pack and go to the man-village. Mowgli doesn’t listen but has friends to help him out along the bad situations he gets in. This book has a very good mea (1), gives him off to wolves for him to become a man-cub for ten years. The wolves give the boy a name (1), but it basically means that a person is a person no matter what. Another important message in this book is to not back down when you believe you’re doing the right thing. Horton protects the people on the dust particle even though the other animals thin (1), Mr. McGregor spots Peter Rabbit. Mr. McGregor chases Peter Rabbit all around his garden and Peter Rabbit eventually jumps into a watering can. Finally (1), no matter how small” (Seuss). This quote can be taken in many ways (1), “A person’s a person (1), we see many things as less or smaller because of what they’re capable of and size. This book contains several messages. Throughout the book the elephant is repeating the phrase (1), but yet is still quiet to the elephant. I find this book to be creative and humorous. Humorous because Dr. Seuss chose the largest animal he could think of to find the smallest dust particle with people on it. I find this to be a creative book because it (1), when the people are talking on the dust particle the text gets tiny. This engaged me as a reader because I was able to imagine a small world of people shouting as loud as they can (1), but he sticks to his word and protects the dust particle. In this book the text is the same size throughout the text. However (1), who takes care of them. Horton cares deeply about the people who live in this small world and does his best to protect them. Even the other animals think Horton is crazy for thinking there is something on the dust particle (1), he feels ill. On his way to find some parsley (1), Peter Rabbit gets away (1), accurate facts about history (1), and if he was a rock at the top of the mountain (1), There is a young boy named Johnny Appleseed who came from a family who grew apples and gained knowledge about this fruit. He spread apples all over the U.S. and brightened people's day by his contagious generosity! His loving and giving spirit makes a dif (1), there will always be someone who watches over you/wants you in their lives to make sure you are safe (1), his mother will always be there trying to get her little bunny. The message is no matter what someone tries to do (1), she would become a cloud and lead him home. At the end the little bunny realizes that no matter what he tries to become (1), and if he were a boat (1), she would climb the mountain to catch her little bunny (1), she will become a fisherman and catch the little bunny (1), losing his shoes and jacket in the process (1), and other things where its mother is unable to find him or even catch him. The little bunny’s mother describes how if it can become a fish (1), a rock at the top of the mountain (1), This story focuses on a little bunny that’s determined to run away from his mother. The bunny decides that it can run away and become many things without his mother ever finding or catching it. The little bunny describes how it can become a fish (1), Corduroy does not like living at the department store so he is always hoping somebody is coming to get him the next day. He trys exploring the store because he knows there is more to life. Finally he does get purchased and finds a happy home. This is good (1), you just should never give up and listen to others. (1), and blackberries for supper. This beautifully illustrated classic story teaches the reader about listening and the negative effects of not following instructions. This book is a great book to review social skills with. It shows the natural consequences th (1), and rushes home. Peter Rabbit is so exhausted and does not feel well. He is sent to bed with some camomile tea while his siblings enjoy bread (1), but also allows for mouse characteristics. Another aspect of the book I liked was the message. Being kind (1), is one lesson from the book. Lilly becomes angry and upset when Mr. Slinger takes her purse and sunglasses for part of the class. Due to her strong emotions at that point (1), I loved this book because I remember reading this as a child and I was always entertained by the mischief Curious George would get into. (1), knock down someone else's building (1), the rabbit shows readers how sometimes all someone needs is a friend who will be there and listen. This is a good lesson/reminder for all of us that sometimes we don't need to fix the problem or steamroll our opinions but instead just need to let time pas (1), especially dealing with negative ones. While the other animals mean well (1), a rabbit comes by and just sits next to Taylor in comfort. This is a lovely book about feelings (1), etc. Finally (1), pretend it never happened (1), laugh about it (1), Taylor is not comforted as various animals come by and tell him to be angry (1), "Hi". The rest of the story is told by the illustrations. Predominately in black and white (1), Taylor creates an amazing structure out of building blocks but a swooping of birds knocks it all down. Understandably upset (1), not just one for a boy and another for only girls. It teaches about acceptance and tolerance. I think this is an important book for children to read because it celebrates uniqueness and diversity and shows why it is essential to include everyone. (1), This book teaches children about gender roles and introduces them to the idea of enjoying their favorite color no matter what it is. It shows that colors are for everyone (1), or to introduce yoga or Tai Chi to kids. (1), which he finds difficult to follow. Eventually they find a form that fits them both. A great story to use to introduce multicultural families to children (1), with Mei Mei not quite grasping the idea of Tai Chi movements. Then the story flips with Mei Mei trying to teach Gong Gong yoga moves (1), This is a tale of finding new friends. There is only one written word (1), color begins to enter towards the end of the book to show the joy of having a good friend. (1), Mei Mei (1), the "idea" starts off as a small egg-looking thing. As the child tries to push it away (1), anyone is capable of having a great idea. You just have to be confident enough to let other people see your genius. (1), I think the main message of this book is that no matter how small (1), it blossoms into a beautiful and colorful thing. Overall (1), when the child grows to accept the idea (1), demonstrating that you can never really let go of something you're passionate about. Eventually (1), the idea keeps returning bigger and bigger (1), as it really solidified the idea of the plot. First (1), like this book because it encourages young readers to share their ideas. Many kids think of something (1), children will be inspired to share their great ideas and have enthusiasm for them. I also liked the illustrations in the book (1), especially when they have an idea. But (1), adults make children feel like they're inferior just because they have less life experience. This causes children to become shy and submissive (1), they find that they are intelligent and capable of great things. This book's ideas promote confidence in children to be able to think they can do just as much as an adult can do. Too often (1), once they share their idea (1), like the character in the book did. But (1), but just assume it's not smart or worth being shared because they're little. They push it away (1), wants to join. The illustrations flow with the story as they move through the poses (1), and the little girl (1), Lilly draws a mean picture of her teacher. When she finds a nice note from Mr. Slinger in her purse (1), goes to help the big Dump Truck who had been rude to him just a moment ago. (1), This book is a fantasy book about transportation because it has animals driving cars of all shapes and sorts. This book is great for children to learn and get excited. The book tells a story about all the different cars (1), a new color would appear. This would be a great book for students who are learning their primary and secondary colors. This book also comes with a kit so the teacher can be interactive with the students to actually be able to show them the colors changing (1), yellow and blue. The mice started playing and dancing in the colors that spilled but different colors than the ones they were covered in. The mice realized that when they would mix their color with a different color that was spilled (1), was about three mice that were white until they decided to play in paint (1), " by Ellen Stoll Walsh (1), "Mouse Paint (1), the little blue truck (1), you need to take the time and find the gold bug on each page (1), and helping others. The best moment in the book is when Blue (1), or when talking about friendship (1), since it has a lot of them (1), The book has a nice rhyme scheme and an important message - that being kind to others is good because your friends will help you in your time of need too. I might use this book when talking about animal sounds (1), simple example of accepting and making up for your actions. (1), she apologizes to her teacher and he forgives her. This is a great (1), she feels horrible for even making that mean drawing of him. Afterwards (1), and trains that go. It shows different jobs that some vehicles do. The pages are full of fun pictures that are a little busy (1), which makes this fun and interactive for the children. (1), is outside doing Tai Chi (1), The book is about a little girl who doesn't think she can draw (1), A wonderful book! Both the pictures and story are just lovely. The book is about a little girl and her Grandfather spending a Sat morning together. The grandfather (1), they have all stopped by asking for some of the delicious smelling food. Omu feeds everyone until she has nothing left for herself. Everyone comes back to help her cook a meal of her own. This book would be good for teaching moral character with sharing a (1), Omu is a picture book about a grandmother who is cooking and the smell has attracted many people to her house. From construction workers to the mayor (1), but if adults encourage kids to be themselves then greatness comes. I think this book is good to read to children who need an extra boost and support so they can be and do whatever they want to do. (1), by supporting her art and not judging it. This book gives a lesson of not judging others. Children often become discouraged and give up (1), but her teacher makes her draw a dot. From there she sees herself as an artist. She begins to draw dots of all colors and sizes. Her teacher gave her hope (1), it matters how you treat others and how much you believe in yourself. (1), it seems as though the main character is afraid of his dad for most of the reading. The little boy continuously tries to impress his father on the camping trip they take together. He wants everything to go according to plan and when it doesn't the little (1), it does not matter how big or strong or fancy you are (1), she is the smallest train but she tells herself she can do it and she makes it up the hill to the city. This is a good story for all students really (1), another capable train comes along that would easily be able to pull them but he says he is to nice of a train to pull them and only fancy people can ride on it and he pulls off. Another train comes by that is big and strong but does not want to help becau (1), In this book the toys train brakes down and they are unable to continue onto the children in the city (1), you can tell he loves his son regardless of the failed impressions. I would recommend this book to a Pre-k class in order to help them gain a perspective on what love between father and child should be like. (1), failing every single time. Looking back on the facial expressions of the father (1), especially father's will love their children no matter what the circumstance. The boy had tried many times to impress his father (1), Horton Hears a Who by Dr. Seuss is one of my all-time favorite children’s books. The main reason I love this book is for its creative writing and the characters. This book is a unique story of a small town who lives on a dust particle and an Elephant (1), it is likely intended for kindergarten to second grade. Personally (1), trucks (1), Circle tale (1), This is a cute story about a caterpillar who can't stop eating! Throughout the days of the week he eats and eats AND EATS! This book could be a great educational tool to learn the days of the week and the life cycle of a butterfly- plus it's super cute!! (1), he cannot catch the bird. (1), A cat has his eyes on a delicious looking bird; however (1), No one wanted to help the red hen prepare to make her cake but they all wanted to eat the cake. When she ate the cake by her self it made everyone want to help from then on. (1), but we can always find a positive for every negative things that happens. Helps with balancing life’s situations and learning to cope. (1), Great book that helps children realize that things don’t always go the way we want them to (1), This book poses the phrase "if you give a mouse a cookie" and uses all of the things that he could ask for in the future. They requests build off of each other and go on and on. Kids can relate to the boy and the mouse in this book. It also is a good intr (1), 4.5/5 "We're poor" (1), but she ends up eating all different kinds of animals throughout the book. At the end of the book the old lady ends up dying because she eats a horse. (1), This book is about an old lady who swallows a fly. She doesn't know why (1), This alphabet book is definitely not a typical alphabet book. It is set up as a play in 26 acts where each letter has its own act during which some kind of catastrophe happens to it. (1), an unconventional journey that uses words in their secondary form in connection with the coinciding letter in the alphabet. (1), yet the busy little spider keeps diligently at her work. (1), the animals of the nearby farm try to distract her (1), A character known as "Sam I Am" pesters an unnamed character to taste a bizarre-looking dish of green eggs and ham. (1), Mountain Girl insists at a family meeting around their homemade kitchen table. Her parents (1), to which they answer what they see looking at them. One of my favorites! (1), This story is about a little boy who travels the world in search of his cat. In each culture he goes to (1), The Empty Pot is Demi's beloved picture book about an honest schoolboy A long time ago in China there was a boy named Ping who loved flowers. Anything he planted burst into bloom. The Emperor loved flowers too. When it was time to choose an heir (1), The classic alphabet tale is sure to delight young readers and give adults a chuckle. (1), This is a classic book about a cat who entertains two children that are bored at home. The 3 of them make a mess and have to clean it soon. This is a great problem/solution book. (1), Rhyming book- catchy rhymes will keep the reader engaged and enjoy the reading (1), he finds his cat and an additional surprise! (1), he is shown a different type of cat. In the end (1), This story is a wonderful story for children learning about their colors and numbers. (1), who love the outdoors and their independent way of life (1), but soon realizes that he wants to be somewhere that he will be loved. He decides to return home to find supper waiting for him. This adventurous story paired with bold illustrations makes for a captivating children's fantasy book. (1), A boy named Max has a wild imagination! But month after month passes (1), the man in the yellow hat finds George and all of the animals are given a balloon. This book could be used to introduce how to make inferences because this book has a less obvious cyclical pattern. Due to the book's cyclical pattern and simplistic dialogu (1), others will be happy to meet us halfway. (1), and with everything back to normal Camilla continues to eat lima beans (1), she allows the old woman to feed her them. Camilla is successfully transformed back into a normal being (although her pink bow has become striped) (1), but after realizing that this could be her only hope to being cured (1), an old lady persuades her to eat some lima beans. Camilla is afraid to admit her willingness to eat them at first (1), and transforming into her room after a spiritual counselor says a prayer for her. Finally (1), When reading this book (1), when we reach out and begin to share our stories (1), she enjoys being different. (1), but somehow you do it. Jacqueline Woodson's lyrical text and Rafael L pez's dazzling art reminds us that we all feel like outsiders sometimes-and how brave it is that we go forth anyway. And that sometimes (1), or something just as random. It's not easy to take those first steps into a place where nobody really knows you yet (1), or where you're from; maybe it's what you eat (1), even when you feel scared and alone. There will be times when you walk into a room and no one there is quite like you. There are many reasons to feel different.
