Om mitt bibliotek
I buy and read a vast amount of books. These are mainly poetry, anthropology, natural history, art and travel. I read novels and short stories but they tend to be in translation. This library is a small selection.
Om mig
I'm a French/Welsh poet living in the UK. My website is http://www.pascalepetit.co.uk and my blog is http://www.pascalepetit.blogspot.com My fifth collection What the Water Gave Me: Poems after Frida Kahlo was published by Seren in 2010 and Black Lawrence Press in 2011 (US edition). It was shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize, Wales Book of the Year and was a book of the year in the Observer. My second and third collections, The Huntress and The Zoo Father, were also shortlisted for the TS Eliot Prize and were Books of the Year in the Times Literary Supplement. I teach poetry writing courses in the galleries at Tate Modern and am a Royal Literary Fund Fellow at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

I trained as a sculptor at the Royal College of Art but now only write. I'm widely travelled, in the Venezuelan Amazon, China, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Californian redwoods, Israel, etc. I have translated some contemporary Chinese poets, such as Yang Lian and Zhai Yong Ming and taught creative writing in Almaty for the British Council. I was poetry editor of Poetry London for many years and one of the founding tutors of the Poetry School. I earn my living from writing, readings and tutoring.
