A couple of years ago, I was fed up with myself for reading too much crap, so I decided to start reading "the classics." I began reading Moby Dick on Halloween night in-between trick or treat-ers. My favorite novelists are Tolstoy and Dostoevsky, especially the latest translations by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky. I think Crime and Punishment is my favorite book of all time (so far). I like to read all the books my 7-year-old daughter is reading as well, and I am happy that there is some really great juvenile fiction out there. I also forced myself to read those god-awful Twilight saga books (so I could know what the fuss is about). My informed opinion: They are the most poorly written books I have ever suffered through!

I am a full-time Mom to two young kids and a part-time writing tutor at a small community college. I have worked in publishing and marketing, but what I really want to do is direct. Actually, no, I don't want to direct. I want to write, of course!
