I'm organizing a used booksale in Cheshire to benefit the Friends of Feral Cheshire Cats, the trap-neuter-release organization here in town. The sale isn't until August (set for 8/20 and 8/21), but in the meantime we need book donations!

Since the FFCC doesn't operate a shelter where you can bring donations, I'm setting up donation boxes around the area. Right now there are two, at Yalesville Veterinary Hospital (322 Church Street, Yalesville) and at Pet Playhouse (1656 Meriden-Waterbury Rd, Southington). I'm hoping to get at least one or two places actually in Cheshire as well. And since I've had some interest from people with a ton of books to donate, I'm available to pick books up as well.

So tell all your friends and family it's time to clear some more shelf space for new books. All donations are greatly appreciated.

An update on the sale:

So the sale now has a home! It will be held at the Masonic Lodge in Cheshire (9 Country Club Road, right on the corner where it hits Route 10) on August 20th and 21st from 10:00AM to 4:00PM both days. I've collected several thousand books, including a wide array of history books, cookbooks, travel books, children's books, mainstream fiction, and a little bit of everything else as well.

I'll be collecting donations right up until the day of the sale, so if you have books to donate feel free to drop them by either Pet Playhouse of Yalesville Vet any day of the week.

Good luck and I hope to be there!

The first day of the sale was fantastic! Even with the admittedly slow traffic we made over $1,000 for homeless cats in Cheshire. I did the math and that will neuter 23 feral cats. The sale will still be going strong tomorrow, so stop by from 10:00-4:00 to check out the thousands of books still available!
