I tried 50 last year and did not come close so this year I will try 25. That is still quite a few books since I am mostly reading from the list 1001 books to read before you die. I have read 5 so far but have slowed down reading "On Beauty" – Zadie Smith. I am having a hard time getting into the novel.

1/30/2013 "On Beauty" finished and now reading Slow Man.

Never Let Me Go – Kazuo Ishiguro
Saturday – Ian McEwan
The Red Queen – Margaret Drabble
The Plot Against America – Philip Roth
Things Fall Apart – Chinua Achebe
On Beauty - Zadie Smith

Oh, hey, welcome to the group. I have read The Plot Against America and I have to say that it is not a bad book but I liked the other novels by Philip Roth way better. Have fun tackling the next 25 of the huge 1001 book batch!

Have fun! Glad to see here's another one being not as fast, just like me :) I set myself a goal of at least 10 books this year, but if I'm continuing in the pace I'm in right now, I might go up to the 25 as well!

So I finished another book and now realized it was not a book from the list of 1001 books to read before you die. When I started reading it I stared to wonder. It just did not seem quite the same as books on the list. It had the same title. It was a detective/mystery so I enjoyed it anyway. Plus it has place in California and Oregon I have been to. For some reason I like to read places I have been that in books.

Books I am reading at this time:

The Resilience Factor- Karen Relivich & Andrew Shatte
PHP Objects, Patterns, and Practice
A tale of Tub- Jonathan Swift
What Color is Your Parachute? - Richard Bolles

Beginning to Read:

The Lambs Of London - Peter Ackroy
