Anyone owns a copy of this book and care to share some illustrated pages? Thank you!

I should be able to share some photos this weekend.

Many thanks Rainer for posting those images, I'd not seen them previously. Ian Pollock's illustrations are certainly a world apart from William Blake's!

You are right: the illustrations are totally different from Blake's but I like them very much. And the book itself is gorgeous. As Paul W. Nash says in "Folio 60": "The typography, illustration and binding combine to make this one of the most satisfying books published by the Society."

This is absolutely one of my favourite FS publications. These are illustrations you either love or hate, and I love them! The binding and typography are indeed superb.

I agree, you either love them or hate them. I am a hater.

>4 rainerc: Thank you Rainer for posting the photos. Really appreciate your kind gesture. I like the illustrations.

What is the original price? I found one on ABE. The seller is asking for 58 pounds inclusive shipping.

>10 HU2013:: I paid about 35 pounds incl. shipping for my ebay copy in May 2012. I'm not sure about the original price but 58 pounds incl. shipping for a fine copy sounds reasonable.

>10 HU2013: I paid equivalent 41 pounds incl post for a fine copy a few weeks ago on ABE. Shipping was within the US. No idea of original price.

The price given in the 1992 prospectus was £55.00. I suppose, given the current prices, that either makes the book either a bargain or a bad investment, depending on how you look at it.

Thank you all for your posts. I want to buy this book for reading. So far I did't buy any book as an investment.

Reading a book is the best investment you can get from it.

Thank you! Life may be the longest thing we do, but it's still too short to take too seriously ;)

My dear fellow devotees, I noticed that there is a 2003 version of this book, illustrated by W Blake. What's the original price?

>18 HU2013: You can always check the original price of Folios from the lengthy list of prospectuses stored about halfway down the FSD wiki - the link to the wiki is at the very top of the FSD home page. The price of the quarter leather/moire silk Blake-illustrated Paradise Lost was £75 in the 2006 prospectus, so around £95 in Folio inflation-adjusted prices today.

I won my quarter leather Blake Paradise Lost at ebay last year for £ 43 plus £ 12 shipping UK to Germany. Book and slip case are in fine condition. As copies start at £ 55 on abebooks currently I think I made a good investment both financially and educationally ;) (and it sure looks very nice aside my Blake illustrated Dante Folio).
