One, did I ever officially tell you all I changed my member name from aglaia531? If not, surprise! It's me :)
Second, a few of you already know from fb, but --- I was offered a job yesterday.
Working for Abby.
For LibraryThing for Libraries.
!!!!!!!!!

And, to be group-relevant, I'm beginning my first HP reread in I think three years. It's so funny to go alllll the way back to the beginning after so long, but every word still so familiar :)

I think I said it on Facebook, too, but congratulations! And enjoy your HP reread. I'm doing a reread myself, this year -- one book a month, starting in January. (Which reminds me, I should read PoA before March is over!)

Eh, you've got plenty of time! GoF, on the other hand, you might wanna get crackin' on before the last week of April ;)

>3 kgriffith: Yeeeaaah, this is the last month where I can get away with that sort of slacking. ;-)

One, you did tell us, and I still read your new username as GlitterFern. Sorry! My tired old eyes...
Second, congratulations!!!!

Congratulations! I know you've been wanting to work for LT for years!

I'm specifically taking an extra couple of days (which will lead right into a long weekend) after my vacation for my reread. That and for post-vacation relaxation. (Vacation is an extended family gathering. I love my family, but I don't anticipate it being particularly relaxing!)

JP, maybe I can ask Tim to change the kerning on just my username so the letters are far enough apart for the "m" to be distinct ;)
Bib, sounds like a good plan! I always need a vacation from my vacation: smart of you to schedule one :)

I keep reading it as GlitterFern too! I just thought your ferns were extra crafty!

Congratulations on your new position!

Haha, that's it - I am going to make a glitter fern happen for my profile pic to use for the official LT announcement.

Thank you! I'm enjoying the week off in between jobs, but I can't wait to start :)

Oh, that is too awesome!  Congratulations!  And let us know how the re-read is going.  The last time I "read" through the books was in 2011, and I was listening to Stephen Fry's audiobooks.  It doesn't feel like 3 years ago, already, but here we are.

Congrats! Good to see you again :)

I'm still on book 1, mostly because I'm also listening to Inkheart and that's a library book, so I have to finish it before the expiration. I will say that I actually have to use a bookmark, because SS is so familiar to me that I recognize every line as well as if I just read it yesterday!

Mr Andrew, thank you! I missed having a job where I could keep LT open in a tab all day long. Now I'll have the ultimate excuse :)

So if you work for LibraryThing, is this considered research? :o)

I imagine it would fall under community-building, right? Interacting with members, having a visible presence on LT... I don't know that those are in my job description, but it sure sounds good :)

...keeping tabs on undesirables, monitoring misbehavior, investigating suspicious user activity...

I was trying to frame it in a positive light, but you're on to me. ;)

No more glittery ferns up in here - better? ;)

Much better! What a difference two letters make!
