I never knew that the Pepperidge Farm bakery started out as a home-based business in Bloomfield. This is just one of the interesting anedotes I've picked up from reading Eric D. Lehman's A History of Connecticut Food: a proud tradition of puddings, clambakes and steamed cheesburgers. To all the foodies out there, do you know of other good sources of information about Connecticut's culinary heritage? Do any of you have any vintage cookbooks?

My library - both posted & piled up around the house - includes plenty of vintage cookbooks... Sadly, however, none are dedicated entirely to Connecticut-only-oriented cuisine. I'd love to hear more details about some that are, tho!
