Hello everyone,

These are the books that will be shown as movies this November 2007
in the U.S. I hope you will read these before watching the movie
versions

No Ountry for Old Men - Novel by Cormac McCarthy ( 2007NOV09 )
Beowulf - Anonimous ( 2007NOV16 )
Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez ( 2007NOV16 )
I'm not there - Music and Life Inspiration by Bob Dylan ( 2007NOV21 )
The Mist - Short story by Stephen King ( 2007NOV21 )
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly - from autobiography: Le Scaphandre Et Le Papillon by Jean-Dominique Bauby ( 2007NOV30 )

I'm recommeding you guys to read No Country for Old men because Cormac McCarthy is an award winning writer, the current Pulitzer awardee for the novel "The Road"
Another is the Beowulf, which is good for kids, specially Beowulf is sometimes discussed in Literature subjects in school, being considered the classic literature of England, written around 600AD
Also, consider reading Love in the Time of Cholera, which was included in 1001 books to read before you die, 1000 greatest Literature of All time, and Time's 100 best novels of the 20th century.

Thanks

Erick

Richard Kelly’s Southland Tales based on his own graphic novels:
Southland Tales Book 1: Two Roads Diverge
Southland Tales Book 2: Fingerprints
Southland Tales Book 3: The Mechanicals

I read Amor en tiempos de cólera (Love in the time of cholera) when I was in school, and I remember that it was pretty good (in the García Márquez magical-realism way). I'd highly recommend Cien años de soledad (One hundred years of solitude) as well.
I can't really imagine how it would play out as a movie, but maybe it'll be alright...
Has anyone heard anything about it?

#2 Any recommendations for a good translation of Beowulf?
-------------

When I studied Beowulf at university, we used the Seamus Heaney translation (among others), and I quite enjoyed it.

I'm hearing a lot of bad reviews for the movie Love in the Time of Cholera. I enjoyed the book myself and don't have any desire to see the movie. The next movie I am looking forward to is Alvin and the Chipmunks and Sweeny Todd.

Thanks for the Seamus Heaney suggestion. I've been looking at it, now I think I will buy it.
