I don't usually start threads but it's been quiet for awhile, so I was hoping this meant that we were all just too busy reading.

So what is anyone reading?

I'm always knee deep in reading all sorts of lesfic stuff (mostly so that I can keep up posting reviews both on my Tumblr: http://frombellatoylva.tumblr.com, and here on LT too... I'm considering trying to get them onto Amazon as well, since a lot of the authors aren't as big and I guess reviews really help those sorts of authors, but, that would take time I'm not sure I have, urgh, I need longer days...)

But, my most recent two favorite books though were The Brutal Truth by Lee Winter and Rock and a Hard Place by Andrea Bramhall. Both such amazing stories. Especially The Brutal Truth. Yikes. Ooh, and Summer's Cove by Aurora Rey, definitely recommend that one (although it's the second in the Cape End Series by her, so, read at your own risk... :))

On the lesbian-themed front, I quite liked Juliet Takes a Breath (white feminism meets chick from Brooklyn) and The Abyss Surrounds Us (sci fi lesbian pirates) this year. My other top 2017 reads are A Closed and Common Orbit (meaning of being human, via AI), Sally Ride: America's First Woman in Space, Bloodchild and Other Stories by Octavia Butler with lots to chew on.

I'm looking forward to exploring DanieXJ's suggestions.

Oooh, I *loved* Juliet Takes a Breath. I also recently loved Dress Codes for Small Towns.

>3 pammab: I've been trying to read Sally Ride for ages but haven't gotten around to it, and that bums me out 'cause when I was a kid, I definitely wanted to be Sally Ride (and then I realized just how much Science I needed to be great at, and while I'm okay in Science, I'm not Sally Ride and other astronauts good in it :)).

And I recently recommended A Closed and Common Orbit on one of my work RA things, so I should probably read it too huh :))
