I've been working on adding a bunch of sheet music I was given for free, and I've noticed that several sources aren't working and are giving "the search has failed" results. These include Yale University, Princeton University, and Arizona State University.

Can you give replication steps? Did you try just titles? Also provide some examples. Did you confirm that the sheet music is findable in the native sources (e.g. library catalogs)?

I can confirm I am getting connection failed for yale & princeton. ASU connection testing brings back results. However, ASU seems to be an Alma library which means the innopac connection is probably providing static/old data.

Amazon Canada seems to be out too.

>4 LolaWalser: Amazons are usually a separate issue (but not always), because they rely on the Amazon Associates program.
In all cases, it's helpful to include the text that appears after "The error message was" at the bottom of the right hand column in a failed search in your report—I believe this only applies to Amazon errors; library sources don't have that message.
In any case, I can confirm that the problem I guessed at re: Amazon Canada is correct—it's not currently working.
The three reported in >1 inge87: on the other hand seem to be timing out, which is a different (but also confirmed issue.

>4 LolaWalser: And Amazon.ca is back up and running, as well. For some reason, Amazon decided we needed another Associates key. Sigh.
Thanks a ton to lesmel for wrangling the library sources! All are working properly again. Marking as fixed!

I'm having this trouble with Yale, and I have been for several months; I tried emptying my cache to see if your fixes would take effect, but Yale is still timing out on me. The book I'm searching for is Servant Leadership The Master's Design, and WorldCat confirms that Yale has it. Does it make a difference if it's located in their Divinity School library?

>11 OMF-US: Shouldn't. This should be working. Sending ccatalfo a note.

I'm receiving "The search has failed." for McGill University (for any title or isbn). I was using the title or ISBN for "The Official Major League Baseball Opus" - 9781905794270. Entering either piece of info directly at https://www.mcgill.ca/library/ produces the results page for the book.

>16 dg001: I've sent a message to McGill University using this form: https://www.mcgill.ca/library/contact/askus/report-problem
I also think that this deserves its own bug report, so I'll open a new one refering to this post and close this one. Thanks for reporting it!
(New bug report is here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/324777 )
Update: McGill has switched to worldcat.

I'm having the same "The search has failed." issue for New York Public Library for any title or ISBN. I was using the title or ISBN for "One Metro World" - 9782746693548. Entering either piece of info directly at https://catalog.nypl.org/ produces the results page for the book - http://catalog.nypl.org/search/o1000386886

>19 dg001:
Short answer:
Yes, catalog.nypl.org:210/INNOPAC is not working. I've unreleased it, so it won't show up in the list anymore.
Long answer:
Giving access to librarything to make queries in the catalogue and givíng access via the NYPL web interface is two different things. Apparently they don't want to give access with z39.50 which is what librarything uses. (z39.50 is a standard protocol and the reason why librarything can offer access to so many sources around the world.)
