Welcome to the 2019 group, I hope you will post your BFB reads throughout the year and let's see how many we end up with.
I had a really great year in 2018 with 30 BFB's completed, I don't think I will reach double figures in 2019 but I will no doubt read a few.

I was just looking to see if a new group was set up yet and lo and behold, here it is! I am definitely in for another year. Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone.

Hi John, thank you for the invitation to this group and for setting it up for another year.

Yes, thank you for getting the 2019 group up and running. 30, just wow. Really great year is an understatement, and the choice to read books of 500p. for one year takes tremendous personal discipline, so no wonder you need a rest! Enjoy the afterglow and whatever BFBs find their way into your lap in the new year. All the best!

>2 Yells:, You are most welcome Danielle and Rob.
>3 connie53:, Nice to see you here again Connie my dear.
>4 frahealee:, Hi Francine, I will have today as my rest period and be ready to get back to the books tomorrow, I have lots of books that fit both the 500 or more pages and the BFB criteria and may do it again in a year or two.
>5 bryanoz:, Hi Bryan mate, the rest is only for today and I will be back at the books from tomorrow although it may be February before a BFB gets into my hands. I hope you mean 100 BFB's for the group to achieve and not for either me or you to do ourselves, lol. That would be some achievement.
I hope all my lovely BFB group friends have a very happy new year, I love you all.

>5 bryanoz: Hmm, I was wondering the same! 100 for one or two people would be an amazing achievement!

I cannot believe we are already in June and I have not contributed to the total so far this year, I think one or two will pop up though. After last year I needed a break and wanted to whittle down the TBR pile, ha ha ha , any way I have already been thinking about BIG reads for next year (I know it is a little early to be doing this), I will not be giving any clues but look out for my 2020 thread and you may find a link. I know this is a bit of a teaser and with nearly seven months before I start but I like to keep you on your toes so make sure you sign up next year.
Have a great month of BFB's boys and girls and I hope to be a part of the ranks soon, bye for now.

Don't worry about contributing, John. You have contributed greatly just by hosting this group. There may or may not be years I don't contribute as I don't plan on reading BFB's, I just read what floats my boat at the time! That being said, you do have my interest piqued for next year!

>13 johnsimpson: Hmmm, nearly time to find out what your plan is! Sounds intriguing.
I haven't managed to pick up many BFBs this year (although I read plenty that were more than 500 pages, just not quite there). I am planning a few biographies for next year and they are always big.

I will be revealing my 2020 BFB reading plan next week, probably on the 23rd as a little pre-Christmas Day present, ha ha.

I'm on tenterhooks!

Well here it is, my 2020 reading plan, I do hope you lot are not underwhelmed with this. After a blank 2019 I will be hitting the big ones and although we are lowering the threshold to 500 pages or more, I am going to attempt to get through my super big ones, the 1,000 page behemoths. I have pulled out 14 of these and will start with one on Jan 1st, I will lower the page count slightly as I have Ken Follett's Century trilogy to begin and only the third is super big. One on the list is Norman Mailer's Harlot's Ghost weighing in at 1405 pages.
I think I will need a bit of luck to get through these but I am going to give it a go and we will see how I go.
I would like to wish all my friends here on the BFB group a very Merry Christmas.

>21 johnsimpson: A very ambitious plan! I have the Ken Follett books on my shelf too. Look forward to hearing what you think of them.
I must admit I am glad that 500 pages in now the threshold as I read quite a few last year between 500-600 pages. I'm sure my count will be higher this year!
Hope you had a lovely Christmas. And best wishes for a great New Year (with lots of reading!)
