I'm new to the group. Anyone still around?

Just getting started with LT. Having a look around, added a small sub-set of my library. Looking for some reading material and happened to find "Back Passage" by James Lear. My public library is closed for the next month or so (COVID-19 which is Fkg up a lot of things one way or another).

All that has brought me here. From what I've read about Lear's book (the guy as multiple pen names it seems) it's a one-hand book so to speak.

Reviews are mostly favorable with one or two less than thrilled.

Anyone care to comment or recommend another book?

I haven't heard of Back Passage but can create a touchstone to find it easily in a search. Then, let's see...

Oh, wow, one reviewer that was surprised the novel is erotica! The cover image and the title together weren't a subtle clue. XD

That book looks fun, but Lear's work appear to be well outside of my preferred price range.

Yeah, I was surprised by that review as well. Maybe they missed the cover somehow. Pictures don't always render depending on internet connection and preferred browser settings. Although, the title itself would be a clue.

I am new to this group too. and to this app/site, looking for friends and new ideas for books to read. I am disabled and stay home alot, not easy to get around; even before the stay at place order.

The group isn't very active. There are some interesting books mentioned.

I recommend anything from Andrew Grey - mainly "Growing his Dream & Planting his Dream"

I can see the conflict. Extreme bible thumpers are good at breathing fire and brimstone, not so good at expressing love for those that are near. When those near to them find someone that expresses compassion they naturally grab hold. Sometimes that person is a member of the opposite sex, sometimes a member of the same sex. If you want to freak a bible thumper out then ask them about the Song of Solomon. Another subject bible thumpers don't like to discuss is "Greet one another with a holy kiss."

I gotten a few of the bible thumpers going at me for being gay. But when they learn I study this topic in the Bible and other writing and teaching, they normal curse me out then leave me alone. God loves everybody

<10 I'll self-censor since this is a public post, but sometimes those that very strong views (about anything) that they cannot support use that viewpoint as protection for something that they personally are battling. Or to put it another way - just who are they trying to convince?
