Hi there, I'm thinking about buying the LEC Ficciones and was hoping someone here could comment on the quality of this edition, how well it has held up, etc. Thanks!

Beautiful full aniline leather binding, sturdy slipcase. My copy has held up nicely. Unusual square form factor and page layout with modernist lithographs.

You find a nice review of the book here:

My edition was shelved the normal way in a shelf without direct sunlight exposure and showed first signs of barely discernible sunning to the spine after a month. I turned it around and since then I couldn’t observe any changes to the binding. The binding has a nice subtle, soft and high-quality feel to it and the printing is without flaws. The illustrations have been subject to criticism. While I feel that they support the tone of the stories, they fail to really relate to them. I definitely don’t regret purchasing this one but it cannot compete with my Rose and Blau published by the Bear Press (in German). Definitely go for it when you like the writings and if you can get it for around $400-500.

Top notch except that I don't like the illustrations. Try not to overpay. It comes up in traditional auctions fairly often, so
you don't need to get it from EBAY or ABE if you're patient.

I ordered a copy from Laurie Booksellers in Minnesota during their 50% off sale this weekend. I'm a huge Borges fan and I've been lusting over this one for awhile, can't wait to get my hands on it!
