I have this, but haven’t had time to read it yet.
I have been out mudlarking on the Thames foreshore twice, which was a fascinating experience.

Brilliant book. Went to a talk and book signing last autumn. My only quibble is it would be wonderful illustrated.

>4 jonathankws: I entirely agree, it was engaging, but when she was discussing an item, I frequently had no idea what it might be. The end papers are gorgeous, it can't have been that difficult to add some pictures.

>5 Helenliz: I follow her on Instagram and I believe some images were included in the paperback edition. There was also a separate Instagram feed specifically highlight objects from the book but I discovered that once I'd finished it. I just constantly needed my phone on hand so I could easily google images of what she was writing about!
