I just wanted to update you all on my stepson. He's still in Intensive Care with a drain in his brain. He's still on a ventilator but they plan to do a tracheostomy in the next couple of days since they don't want to have the ventilator tube down his throat too long. They think it could be another week for the swelling to go down. There's no way of knowing the extent of damage until they can bring him around. On the positive side, at least they can see movements in all four of his limbs.

We are just so grateful he was found by his roommate. He's only recently had a friend move in when the were both laid off at the restaurant in March. He really saved Daniel's life and is taking care of his dog, Sadie. My husband is ready to go to Arizona at a moment's notice, but because of Covid he's not allowed to enter the hospital. He will probably go anyway once Dan is conscious to facilitate his move to a rehab hospital. But it's too early to really have any idea of what sort of damage has occurred.

We received word two days ago that my stepson suffered a traumatic brain event. His roommate found him at the foot of the stairs, nonresponsive. He's currently intubated and on a ventilator. We were going back to Arizona but we aren't allowed in the hospital because of Covid so we're trying to handle things from this end. We're just so grateful he let a friend stay with him after he was laid off or he would be dead.

Carol! Good news! You might be able to watch the Jack Reacher stories on tv again - they've cast someone almost as described for the upcoming Amazon series. (no puny little Tom Cruise this time)
