Time to start thinking about group reads for the next two months. Please nominate up to two books, and second as many nominated books as you like. There will be a poll of seconded books in about a week.

I'll nominate a couple of titles that have been on my TBR pile for a while:

The Posthumous Memoirs of Brás Cubas by JM Machado de Assis

The Jungle by Upton Sinclair

Since St. Patrick's Day is March 17th I would like to propose that we read a book set in Ireland in March and I suggest The Book of Evidence by John Banville.

I second The Book of Evidence and nominate One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest by Ken Kesey and Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

Given that we now have two books seconded we can close the nominations. The Group Read for February is The Posthumous Memoirs of Bras Cubas by JM Machado de Assis, and for March The Book of Evidence by John Banville.
