more than 800 photos or artwork images added over the years. Hours and hours of work putting cut-line details on the images and their sources---poof! No longer appearing with the images.
Ideas? Were there changes which affected this. Were they just deleted in a LT2 design change decision?
Anyone know about this?

Hmm, I'm seeing my captions on my member gallery... can you post a couple of examples? Are they only affecting certain images (cover images, etc.), that you can see? Thanks!

Captions are missing under author photos as well.
Check out the Paul Williams for example.
I label each author photo with their name and assigned disambiguation number. ie Paul Williams (1)
This information is now missing under every photo.

They're gone, all right. I mean, the data is still there if you click in to the page for an individual image. But the captions do not appear at the foot of the pictures when they are in a gallery view, or--as referenced in >3 casaloma:-- a set of thumbnails on an author page.
5kristilabrie
Okay, so this issue isn't that the captions are gone completely—they're still showing on the direct images—just not on certain pages in gallery view, is that right?
6paradoxosalpha
Right. Actually, I haven't found any pages where captions are showing now in gallery view.

Okay, it's now appearing again in the gallery view.
The change was simply that, before, whenever it fetched the basic image information it also fetched tags, descriptions and comments. 99% of the time, that was unnecessary and only slowed things down. Clearly, however, I missed that the descriptions appeared on the gallery page.
We good?

thank you.

Member and author galleries are fine now. I don't see captions on the thumbnails in the disambiguation page linked by >3 casaloma:, but I don't know how that looked before, either.

Thanks, Tim
The captions under the photos on individual author pages have been restored.
>9 paradoxosalpha: AFAIK, A panel of thumbnails on a disambiguation page, such as Paul Williams, has never had captions, so I'd agree 'we good'.

Yes. I couldn't find any code that showed them before. It drove me a little crazy! :)
