Anyone know what books are confirmed for the Winter collection? I got the first 3 GOT books, and Feast of Crows is confirmed for the next release. Is there anymore that you know of? A James Bond book maybe?
2folio_books
I guess Autumn was never destined to last very long.

>2 folio_books: Yeah man, I just didn't really like any of the newest releases. I used to buy at least 4-5 books per release, but this past couple years, it's been like 1 or nothing at all. Hoping for H.G. Wells' Invisible Man or anything else by him but no cigar.
4SolerSystem
I'm guessing the Bond will be The Man with the Golden Gun since they seem to be doing all the novels first. I'm excited to see what Fay Dalton does for that one. It's a pretty rough read given Fleming died before he had a chance to revise it.

>4 SolerSystem: I got the whole collection of James Bond FS books, so your suggestion makes sense about the next title.
6behemoththecat
I saw a comment saying that another Bond is coming this year, it might have been on the Autumn release announcement.
There are also the two books announced in the magazine as well as a teaser I believe. I don’t have a copy, but someone shared it on the Facebook group.

I wouldn't argue too much with that. We're pretty much guaranteed A Feast for Crows and the new Bond. And I am reliably assured the Christmas Collection will be a bumper crop compared with the famine of Autumn.
BTW, welcome to FSD, Greg
>6 behemoththecat: also the two books announced in the magazine
The Colour Purple and A Bright Shining Lie.

>7 ian_curtin: Haha! Good one!
>8 folio_books: Thanks for the welcome. I was hesitant to join this site, as I've seen crazy in-fighting among members lately, with everyone accusing each other of being trolls and the like. Reminds me of Westeros!
So hyped for the Feast of Crows to add to my set. I do have a question though: Does Folio own the rights to the last two unreleased GOT books?

As per the 'Christmas Collection' thread just begun, if possible please add the year to the title of this thread for future reference, thanks!

Ugh here we go again

>11 Davey_B: Davey_B: Yeah man, you just gotta find the nice ones on here. That folio_books user literally knows everything about Folio books. I'd ask him if you got any questions. And a nice chap to boot.

>12 Nerevarine: It's ridiculous. One person with way too much time on their hands can truly dilute the quality of a small community like LT groups.

A Bright Shining Lie and The Color Purple will be instant buys for me. And probably I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, which will go nicely with The Color Purple.
I still kick myself over the fact that I missed out on Beloved. I was a broke student at the time and couldn't afford it.

Now you made me blush. I am far from the most knowledgable user on FSD. And I am far from being a nice chap. I hope you don't get to find out how far.

>17 PatsChoice: I wonder if there’s a mechanism to report it? I love this group, and find lately a lot of the msgs are trolls.
21PatsChoice
>20 RRCBS: I assume the group admins, wcarter and folio_books, have some recourse available to them; I don't know how much, however. It probably will come down to a draining game of cat-and-mouse until an LT admin steps in and range-bans the disturbed's IP address.
That said, the best we can do is disengage totally with anyone who lowers the standard of discourse this group has consistently exhibited. To that point, I'm excited for the Christmas release, especially as I've read another LE is on the horizon. Once they publish ASOS, I may also bite the bullet and collect the entire set. Other than that, I'm curious to see what the offerings will be. I would love more above-par releases like the Sappho and Twelfth Night.

>20 RRCBS: You can flag those messages, as they are violations of the LibraryThing Terms of Service (i.e., the prohibition on "'shell' or 'sock puppet' accounts"). You can probably flag the accounts, too, although I'm less clear on whether flagging an account (as opposed to a message) is reserved only for commercial spam.

We are on it, and have been for some time. I'll just repeat Warwick's advice - if at all possible to not engage with them. We DO need evidence to remove them but at the rate the personas are replicating it shouldn't take too long.
Now I'm off to view the damage on Fine Press Forum and the EP group.

This is absolutely the key. This will sound brutal, but folks who consistently troll lead very empty lives and are desperately looking for stimulus through engagement. Ignoring them dispels them.

Seems at least two of the six new people who joined FSD today have been removed as spam, presumably by the LT admins, so that's a start. I hope the trolls still with us are counting down to their exit. I am now awaiting some consultation with Warwick, who probably isn't up yet, (Australia) before we take any further action

As an aside, I do recommend any Devotee with an interest in the troll phenomenon to have a wander over to the EP forum and just read through todays posts. I think you'll find it a bit of an eye-opener.

>33 folio_books: Glenn, I have to thank you for being the admin here along with Dr Carter to keep things tidy.
I do have preference or minor suggestion though, which you could share with the admin gods of LT. Please don't update the forum layout to the ones in other popular fora. I love the fact that the layout here is simplistic and the website is easier to load. I'm in the countryside so sometimes the mobile network coverage on the iPhone is subpar and I find LT loads easier than the rest of the website I frequent so I'm always happy that at least I can access LT when out and about. I like the old school feel.

>33 folio_books: To be honest Glenn, I can't be bothered giving trolls my time and attention. Writing this here is my limit. I feel sorry for trolls, after all who would choose to have a personality disorder that obliges you to continually deceive others and sow discord in order to feel better in yourself? Generally speaking, completely ignoring them works well for me.
