I'm looking for a good book on shooting houses (interior and exterior), woodwork, that sort of thing. My brother's in the renovation business and also a photography buff and he's taken some pictures of his work that I think could be better/more dramatic (for fun and profit, as they say!). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have Photographing buildings inside and out, which is good on the technicalities, as well as inspiring. It does not touch on digital cameras or workflow, but that does not make it irrelevant in these digital times.

Many thanks! I'll take a look!

Sounds like a fun project! As an amateur I found Interior Photography informative and inspirational.

Photographing Buildings Inside And Out by Norman McGrath is probably your best bet for an introductory book on the technical aspects of architectural photography. Anything by Julius Shulman is your best bet for inspiration.
Note also that equipment matters in this area. A perpective correction (i.e., a large format camera) capability is needed as is sophisticated lighting for best results. A difficult but very rewarding project.
