New Kindle in October?

Who wants it in designer colors?

I saw this too. I personally don't take much stock in it until Amazon releases definitive information. But, I have no interest in designer colors. I like that the white doesn't distract from the pages, but I imagine some people would like some more "pizazz" in their kindle.

I agree, tasidog. One of the things I love about the current Kindle is that it is rather understated in looks. Besides, if you want fancy colors, I think there are "skins" you can purchase that stretch over the Kindle, allowing you to change it out at will. :)

If you read the article though there is more to it than the color.

The first model will be an update of the current e-book reader, with the same screen size and an improved interface, according to the tipster. The source told CrunchGear that Amazon has "skipped three or four generations" with the update.

The second new model will be considerably larger, shaped like an 8.5-inch by 11-inch piece of paper, and is expected to be available next year.

I am very interested in what interface changes there are going to be as I think the library management features suck.

yes desertgrandma! but if they are true it is fine with me. I love my kindle and I can't imagine what physical improvements could be made that would change my mind. Software improvements yes (like folder management), but the physical kindle I am just fine with. What a treat!
