The 2008 Booker Prize for Fiction has been awarded to The White Tiger by Aravind Adiga. It's a darkly comical book about an Indian taxi driver who decides to write to the Premier of China and educate him on Indian culture before the Premier's arrival for a state visit. It's quite a controversial winner for this prize. It's available on Kindle, as are several of the finalists in the competition.
Would love to hear from anyone who has read it. It's certainly on my list and I have read the "sample" already.
Come on everyone, fold up the beach towels, fall is here and winter isn't far behind...that's "reading weather!" Let's hear from all you kind Kindlers! It's too durn quiet around these here parts!
