I am reading The Count of Monte Cristo, which I downloaded from the MobileRead catalog on my Kindle. I must say that this is probably the best "page turner" novel I have read in a very long time. I can't even express how good it is.

I like the MobileRead catalog because the books are individually edited, which (I am assuming) cuts down on typos. However, the sorting of author and title on the kindle is sometimes not correct. I have a Mac and have not found a program that will correct this.

I've been reading a sci-fi collection by Octavia Butler (Bloodchild and other stories) in dead-tree version, which prompted me to download Kindle samples of Lilith's Brood and Fledgling, which I'll probably buy in a little while, but I think Kim Harrison's going to continue as my first Kindle priority for right now.

Yes, I have both the Feedbooks and MobileRead catalogs on my Kindle. I have heard that Feedbooks has better metadata. I keep downloading from MobileRead because I have heard that their editing of books is more personal. Don't know if that is true. I also like their kindle catalog better, because it contains description of each work by the person who formatted it. Someday I should compare the two of them, especially when I have these metadata problems, but too many other things to do!

Do you mean the answer is in that thread, or that I should post the question there? I did try to look for information on altering metadata on a Mac, but couldn't come up with anything. I tried Stanza, but it doesn't alter metadata the way the Mobi program does on PCs.

Okay, I am not at all familiar with the Mac.

My best suggestion, would be to "introduce yourself"
that way you can log on and ask all sorts of questions.

We do have Mac users. We also have people that will go the limit to help however they can. Believe me, I know all about this!

I'm thinking all you want to do is make sure the Kindle lists the correct title/author order, right? I"ve been able to do that with the mobi2mobi program, but I'm using Vista.

anyway, come join us and ask. It can't hurt, and you may learn something. I'm desertgrandma there, also...good luck.
